Apart from the shops in nearby Cancon you can drive to major supermarkets and shopping in Villeneve Sur Lot in 20 minutes. In the other direction is the pretty medieval town of Bergerac which is within half an hour's drive.
There are vineyards within easy reach including the famous Monbazillac Chateau. There are beautiful countryside and scenic drives to explore all around the area, some leading to places of great historical interest.
Water sports are available on the Dordogne and Lot rivers and the famous 18-hole golf course at Castelnaud is only a few minutes by car. Whatever you choose to do, you will probably want to visit one of the many local markets where you can find some great bargains. The whole area is defined as the Fois Gras capital of France and there are a number of restaurants within easy driving distance.
